The Journal News, the local news paper in Rockland and Westchester County, New York featured RustyBrick on the cover page of the paper today.
The article is named Suffern twins' app is perfect for Passover by Laura Incalcaterra and photos by Matthew Brown. The story is primarily about our new No Chametz app. You may have seen the news on several other Jewish papers, but the Journal News is special because it is the paper I grew up with every day.
As a kid growing up in Rockland County, seeing the Journal News delivered to your doorstep every morning - I never imagined being mentioned in the paper - not once. But today, Ronnie and I were on the front cover and then again on the second page in. The paper has a circulation of over 1 million readers, but more importantly my parents and their friends will all read it.
Those who did not get a mention in the article but had a major part in this app include my other brother, Rabbi Adam Schwartz.
Here is a picture of the story as shown in the physical paper:
You can read the full write up at the Journal News but here is a quote:
For Jews, the pre-Passover ritual of cleansing the home of chametz — or leavened bread products — can make one a little meshuggeneh. But twins Barry and Ronnie Schwartz, software application and website designers from Suffern, have come up with a modern way of completing a rite with roots in ancient times.
The Schwartzes, co-owners of RustyBrick Inc., have developed a new app just in time for the observance: No Chametz.
You can download the app for free over here and for more stories in the press, see below:
