In December, we announced an app named the Bedtime Shema app for iOS devices in memory of our mother (the mother of Ronnie & Barry Schwartz) sudden passing in October 2012. The response for the app has been amazing - with over 15,000 downloads and dozens of great reviews.
To make this wonderful app available to more of the Jewish community, we have decided to built it for Android as well. Android users can now download the free Android Bedtime Shema app via the Google Play store.
As we explained, our mother's life was devoted to her children, grandchildren and her whole family. We wanted to do something to honor her life. The app is a fun and interactive learning aid designed to help Jewish children say the bedtime Shema (a Jewish blessing you say before going to sleep). The app is now available for free in iTunes and Google Play.
The app takes the child through the typical bedtime routine and ends with the child saying Shema in bed with the app. Boy or Girl, there are settings for both! You can flush the toilet, brush your teeth, shut the lights, cover your eyes, and then say the Shema.
This app was dedicated in memory of our mother, Esther Bat Yaakov.
