Today there is a "bomb cyclone" in the northeastern region of the United States and the RustyBrick offices is getting our share of snow and wind. I thought it would be a pretty frustrating day because of the weather but when I got to the office this morning, I found our own internal bomb cyclone.
First, I opened the freezer and I spotted a huge mess. It looks like someone in the office left a soda can in the freezer over night. It exploded and covered the fridge with frozen cola. I took a pretty cool photo of the soda can, look how the top cleanly separated from the rest of the can:
Sadly, the freezer itself didn't look as cool:
Then I tried to wash my hands in the sink but the water would not turn on. So I went to the bathroom and turned on the water and rusty-dirty water was coming out:
I am told, a third-party plumber was doing work on the building and forgot to close the hatch on the roof to the utility and water room. The pipes and machines may have frozen and they are working on warming up the room and getting the water to flow.
For now, the storm is not too bad and there are a nice number of people who came to the office today. Here is a photo of the parking lot at around 9:30am EST:
