I honestly didn't think I would appreciate the wireless charging feature on the new iPhones, specifically iPhone 8 and iPhone X but I do.
Not having to plug in the device to the cord each time is really a small but yet noticeable convenience that I did not think I'd appreciate as much as I do.
At my desk, I have a stand that does wireless charging. It was about $15 and I rest the iPhone X on it and it charges. I can use the phone, unlock the phone, test apps, and so forth, directly on this stand, and it charges at the same time. When I get home, I purchased a flat coaster like wireless charging device for about the same price where I lay my phone on it while I am sleeping. So that when I grab my phone in the middle of the night, I don't have to be concerned with the wire pulling and knocking off other items from my nightstand.
Rumors are that Apple's Air Power pad is going to cost $199 and can charge your iPhone, Airpods and Apple Watch all at once. $199 is way too much for such a wireless charging system when you can buy them individually for a heck of a lot less. Plus, you barely have to charge your Airpods. The Apple Watch comes with its own wireless charging. The iPhone one you can get from Amazon for $15 or so.
I like wireless charging - there, I said it.
