People ask me often enough to share with them what my favorite third-party web tool is. Well, without a doubt, the tool I use most outside of email and Slack is Feedly.
Feedly is a popular news aggregation software application that works both on the web and on iOS and Android. I use Feedly to subscribe to blogs, news sites and Google News topics that I want to stay on top of. Most of it is to track my search engine and search marketing feeds for my coverage at Search Engine Land but I also use it to track brand mentions for RustyBrick, its products and services.
I am probably one of Feedly's biggest users. I subscribed to Feedly Pro when it was a one time fee for the first 1,000 or so users. I switched to Feedly after Google Reader went offline a few years ago. In fact, I was one of the top users on Google Reader in terms of usage back then as well, they even sent me gifts.
Personally, I hate getting news delivered to my email inbox. Instead, I unsubscribe from everything and use RSS to power what I read. This way I can easily track what I've read and what I have not yet read.
I highly recommend using Feedly for consuming content on a daily basis.
