Red Bulls: Not The Only Losers

Published November 5, 2010

NY Red Bulls logoRemember the Red Bull office can prank the guys played on me a few weeks back? Don't? Go check it out now.

A week or so after we posted, a woman from Red Bull, I believed named Lisa called the office to speak with me. I wasn't in the office, so Ronnie conferenced me via my iPhone. Lisa told us the folks in the office loved the prank and wanted to send four of us to the November 4th match between the New York Red Bulls and San Jose Earthquakes at Red Bull Arena. I thought it was awesome and accepted.

Lisa said to pick up the tickets, go to gate A and ask for Barry's tickets.

I immediately emailed the team asking if anyone wanted to go. I got four responses immediately. I decided to give up my seat so the others can go. So last night the four of them went. They asked for "Barry's tickets" at Gate A and was turned away.

Why? I wasn't there to show my ID. That is fair, I actually offered to give my ID to one of the guys just in case, but they didn't think it was necessary.

What upsets me is that they tracked down Lisa at the gate and Lisa said I didn't confirm the tickets or I guess maybe the transfer of the tickets. Just to be clear, I was never told I had to confirm or I couldn't give the tickets to the people in the office who played the prank on me. Again, a mistake on my part. But when Lisa came to the gate, she could of made it right and just given the guys tickets. What was the big deal?

Instead, the guys purchased tickets and enjoyed the game.

But I feel horrible that the tickets I was promised were not used by RustyBrick. RustyBrick, not only holding the same initials as Red Bull (RB), are huge fans of Red Bull. Most are Red Bull drink fans, but we even have a coder here who owns a Red Bull Jersey. It was just upsetting.

The New York Red Bulls were not the only ones coming out feeling like losers last night.

Anyway, the guys had a good time, here are some pictures:
